Artists from three continents - Africa, Latin America and Europe - worked together on this mural. Artists who came together for the first time, who were supposed to communicate in four languages and in despite the shortness of time - still accomplished the task of integrating the various ideas which
were developed during discussions on Agenda 21 and the world, as well as different painting styles, into the draft.
The tone of the mural was also shaped by the friendly atmosphere and cooperation to which the loving care of the house has greatly contributed.

Initiatives like the 'Jugendring', 'The Düsseldorf Appeal Against Racism', and the 'Fan Project of Düsseldorf' - an initiative against racism among soccer fans - as well as scouts, dance groups, mother-and-child groups, the 'Junge Aktionsbühne Düsseldorf' etc. meet regularly at the 'Haus der Jugend'. Agenda 21 met with many of the groups here, and so the idea of including a young graffiti sprayer into the project came about.

On the main wall, in the center of attention, a large machine-clock symbolizes time and change. On the right hand side, the concepts of nature, jungle and origin can be seen, and on the left side the developing cultures.

On the wall which joins the scenery at a right angle we see the changing man, naked to uniformed, followed by a leap into 'modern life' to the city of Düsseldorf.
